1. Measure each surface – Use a tape measure to record the height and width of each wall or area in feet.
2. Multiply height × width – This gives you the square footage of that surface.
   • Example: 10 ft high × 12 ft wide = 120 sq ft.
3. Add all surfaces together – Combine the totals from each wall or area to find your project’s total square footage.
4. Adjust for openings – Subtract the square footage of doors, windows, or other openings.
5. Account for waste – Be sure to calculate your individual Waste Factor based on your job requirements.
   • Typical waste ranges from 10% to 20%, depending on layout, trimming, and cuts required.
