Stoneyard and Laticrete team up to provide thin stone veneer installation education for masonry students at Whittier Technical Vocational School in Haverhill, MA.
LITTLETON, MA, UNITED STATES, November 27, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ – Stoneyard founders, David Croteau and John Croteau, were thrilled to be invited to teach two thin stone veneer installation courses to masonry students at Whittier Technical Vocational School in Haverhill, MA. The classes were held on Thursday, November 9th and Friday, November 17th.
On Thursday, November 9th, David and John taught the junior and senior masonry class the fundamentals of installing Stoneyard Natural Thin Stone Veneer. The class was able to work hands-on with the stone and assist with the process from keying and pointing the stone to cleaning the stone.
The following week, David and John were joined by Laticrete sales representative, Matt Bunzel, to conduct an experiment testing Laticrete’s Hi-Bond Veneer Mortar vs Type S Mortar. The experiment’s goal is to showcase the strength to which the mortars hold stone veneer to a cement surface. Both mortars will dry for twenty eight days before David will return to the school to share the results of the experiment with the sophomore students.
Masonry instructors at Whittier Regional Technical Vocational High School, praised the experience:
“The presentation was very well structured with both classroom discussions and actual hands-on instructions. All of our masonry students enjoyed learning about the manufacturing process of thin veneer and the correct installation procedures.”
Paul Boucher, Masonry Instructor at Whittier Regional Technical Vocational High School
At the end of each class, all participating students received a Certified Thin Stone Installer certificate from Stoneyard. This certificate demonstrates that they have received education and training on proper thin stone installation methods and procedures.
