At Stoneyard, we prioritize education and training to ensure that our customers have long-lasting, beautiful stone projects. We offer several free educational courses that outline proper installation techniques and best practices.


Certified Thin Stone Installer Class

LOCATION: IN-PERSON

The STONEYARD® Certified Thin Stone Installer program provides masonry professionals and DIY enthusiasts with the tools and important tips for the most efficient and effective install. This is a FREE 2-hour course that takes place in-person at Stoneyard or a dealer location (pending distance). Lunch is provided.

Architect Lunch & Learn

LOCATION: VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON

STONEYARD® offers free Lunch and Learn courses about natural thin stone veneer to discerning architects and designers nationwide. A masonry expert will conduct the course, which features a one-hour presentation and Q&A session.

Learning Objectives
  • Describe the evolution of the masonry industry from when stones were first used as a building material to modern day techniques and uses.
  • Specify and design with natural stone for common and unique applications on commercial and residential projects for both interior and exterior installations, through visual aids and discussion.
  • Identify the proper way to install natural thin stone veneer with the LATICRETE® Masonry Veneer Installation System (MVIS) over various substrates, including the use of corner stones and efflorescence prevention.
  • Address common questions and issues that arise when considering a natural thin stone veneer building material including waste calculation, grout and joint width considerations, temperature and weight restrictions, and the importance of mock-ups.
