Hi, looking for help on the preferred installation method.

Hi, looking for help on the preferred installation method for my commercial stone veneer project.

Rachel
Hi, Happy to help. What kind of project are you working on and is it interior or exterior?

Customer
It is a commercial job, will eventually be a new bank branch. It is exterior – the product is the stoneyard ledgestone stone veneer
Will be going on 3/4″ exterior grade plywood

Rachel
Ok thanks for that background. So thin stone is too heavy to apply directly to plywood, you’d want to install 1/2″ cement board and then you can apply the stone. Typically for install, you can either do the wire lath mesh system of install or you can apply the stone to the cement board w/o the wire lath mesh system. We recommend Laticrete brand mortar. They have the air & water barrier + hi-bond mortar that holds up really well.

Is it ok if I have our install pro, David, reach out to you to discuss install a little better? Because it’s a commercial job, sometimes installs can have a tad more depth to them and I want to make sure you get all of the information you need.

Customer
Sure thing, I think I have a pretty good handle on it now. I have this picture of the recommended installation I just wanted to make sure it didn’t change with the sheathing being 3/4″ exterior grade plywood over zip

Rachel
That should still be accurate!

Rachel
Awesome thanks! He’s the best person to chat with about install for sure 🙂 I’ll have him give you a ring today.
